In Self-Consumption mode, IQ Energy Management prioritises solar and IQ Battery energy over grid energy. By choosing clean, self-produced electricity, homeowners can reduce their reliance on the grid and become more energy independent.

A renewable power plant

With its Self-Consumption capability, IQ Energy Management can help turn a home into an efficient renewable power plant. In the daytime, when solar energy is being generated by the panels, IQ Energy Management uses it to power the home’s systems and appliances.

And instead of selling excess solar to the grid, IQ Energy Management charges the IQ Battery so the homeowner can use that solar power when the sun goes down. If there isn’t enough solar available to meet immediate needs, IQ Energy Management uses all the solar it can and then draws only the minimum amount required from the grid, reducing the homeowner’s reliance on external sources of electricity.

AI-controlled load management

Our AI-driven optimisation manages the home to run energy-intensive EV chargers and electric water heaters with surplus solar production. It also adjusts home energy use by shifting consumption to more favourable times.

Sunlight first, even at night

In the evenings, energy needs usually go up as the sun goes down, and higher consumption often continues into the night. To maximise energy independence when the sun isn’t shining, Self-Consumption mode uses stored solar power from the IQ Battery.

Charge your electric vehicle with 100% solar energy

When it comes to charging your electric vehicle sustainably, our surplus solar or green charging comes into play. Green charging uses only solar power from the PV system and stored solar power from the IQ Battery and no electricity from the grid to charge the electric vehicle. This enables truly sustainable mobility.
