Key details to know before expanding a system with IQ8 Microinverters.
Use the latest Installer App
Use Installer App v4.9.0 or newer to commission IQ8 Microinverters on existing IQ7 sites. The latest app version is required for a smooth and reliable commissioning process.
Mandatory gateway update
Update the IQ Gateway to v8.3.5421 for IQ8 commissioning on IQ7 sites for configurations other than EES 4.0. For EES 4.0 systems or IQ Combiner 6C systems, use v8.3.4041 for IQ Gateway. Watch the training video for more details.
Power limitations
Limit peak power output to 150% of the IQ Battery's rated power. Exceeding this requires PV shedding to reduce surplus solar power during off-grid operation.
