Overview

In this configuration, the Enphase Energy System provides all-day backup for essential loads using M Series Microinverters and IQ Batteries. To maintain stability, no greater than 150% of the IQ Battery continuous power capacity (in IQ PV capacity) can be wired into IQ System Controller. This use case is best when the Enphase Energy System is configured to provide backup to a few pre-selected, essential load circuits. Up to two IQ Load Controllers are strongly recommended to shed high power loads.

Important tips

• Backup systems with M215 or M250 Microinverters require IQ Gateway software version 6 or later. If an update is needed, it will be automatically applied during the commissioning process.

• Backup systems with M215 or M250 Microinverters can use IQ Combiner 3C or IQ Combiner 4C.

• Home Essentials Backup systems support up to four essential load circuits. This requires the installation of two IQ Load Controllers to control all four load circuits.

• Home Essentials Backup systems with M215 or M250 Microinverters require the use of an IQ System Controller or IQ System Controller 2.
