Installer Spotlight: Prometheus Solar

Solar panels in fields

For two decades, Prometheus Solar has built its reputation on one principle: solar systems should be precision-engineered for each customer’s reality. Founded in 2006, this northern Arizona installer has served over 1,000 customers across the state’s high desert and mountain towns, from small residential rooftops to remote off-grid homesteads tucked deep in the Arizona wilderness. With projects spanning 85% residential and 15% commercial—and 40% of all systems off-grid—Prometheus has proven the versatility of solar across some of the region’s most challenging landscapes.

Rather than relying on cookie-cutter designs, the Prometheus team customizes each system to reflect the client’s unique goals, budget, and environment. This commitment to precision recently reached new heights in one of the installer’s most ambitious projects: a large-scale solar expansion across nine sites at Zion National Park, powered by Enphase IQ9 Commercial Microinverters. The project doubled the park’s solar capacity while showcasing how thoughtful design and collaboration can bring clean, reliable energy to even the most iconic landscapes.

Powered by craft, guided by care

Prometheus Solar’s process combines technical proficiency with a deep commitment to customer service. As demand for battery storage and off-grid systems has grown over recent years, the company developed specialized expertise in the kind of complex, bespoke installations that many others avoid.

José Bedoy joined Prometheus in 2016 while studying civil engineering, and he quickly became the company’s go-to expert in batteries and permitting. When he acquired ownership a few years later, he made it a priority to continue doing what made Prometheus strong. “Valuing the customer and giving them the best the industry has to offer was something I wanted to preserve,” he said in a recent conversation with Enphase. “And this included partnering with Enphase, which has proven time and again that its quality and service are top-notch.”

Prometheus backs every project with a 20-year workmanship warranty that exceeds industry standards. For José and his team, standing behind their work long-term is a non-negotiable priority.

A decade of Enphase reliability

For more than a decade, Prometheus Solar has trusted Enphase technology to support its mission of delivering expertly crafted, reliable systems, both on- and off-grid. With superior reliability, performance, and safety, Enphase technology is central to every Prometheus installation.

For Prometheus’ customers, Enphase brings confidence and clarity through intelligent monitoring that keeps systems healthy and easily visible in the Enphase App. For Prometheus, the IQ9 Commercial Microinverter has simplified complex three-phase installations by eliminating the need for external transformers and string balancing. “The ease of installation and its superior efficiency are what impress us the most about the latest IQ9 Series Microinverters,” José stated. “These microinverters make three-phase systems as straightforward as single-phase installations.”

Whether navigating changing net metering policies or building robust off-grid systems, Prometheus relies on Enphase products for consistent performance and responsive support. “Enphase has always had excellent customer service, and its products are incredibly reliable,” José emphasized. “That consistency empowers us to stand behind every system we install.”

Powering Zion National Park

Prometheus Solar’s technical excellence was on full display during the expansion of Zion National Park’s solar infrastructure, a high-profile project that demanded both technical accuracy and logistical coordination. Starting in August 2025, the team rebuilt nine key sites around the park, including visitor centers, emergency service stations, and even a greenhouse. Funded by the nonprofit Zion Forever Project, the expansion faced its greatest challenge in replacing aging equipment and doubling output while maintaining operations across active park facilities.

The result was transformative. Prometheus doubled the park’s total system capacity by adding more than 500 new panels integrated with Enphase IQ9 Commercial Microinverters, enabling streamlined installation and performance monitoring that proved critical during both deployment and operation. “For a park this visible and complex, we needed equipment that made installation efficient and monitoring effortless,” stated José. “Choosing the IQ9 Series Microinverters for this project was critical.”

With a lean crew of five to seven employees making the four-to-five-hour drive to the park and navigating crowded sites and tight schedules, the team relied on diligent organization and dependable technology for success. “We live for these kinds of challenges,” José said. “Coordinating across diverse infrastructure takes organization and teamwork—and that’s exactly what fuels our passion at Prometheus Solar.”

The project reached final commissioning in April 2026. The system performance data is tracked via the Enphase App, allowing park staff to monitor output and system health.

Leading with reliability for northern Arizona

For Prometheus Solar, each project—from off-grid cabins to national park expansions—reinforces what reliable, lasting solar means for northern Arizona. The company’s approach stays rooted in customization, transparency, and meticulous craftsmanship.

With Arizona’s utility changes and potential rate hikes ahead, Prometheus is expanding into larger commercial installations while continuing to rely on Enphase technology for superior performance. “Enphase gives us the confidence to take on complex projects while knowing the results will last,” José concluded. “That reliability lets us focus on what matters most: solar systems that fit our customers’ needs and the landscapes they call home.”
